Dawn of Xanthus
Rathunde is the god of War and Death. He was the last god created in Xanthus as a final solution to the growing evil of Malaazacher and Kaberack. Rathunde is often depicted as a warrior in shining armor. He has the ability to animate the bodies of the dead- he can give life with a thought, but lacks the reciprocal ability to take life.
He is originally mentioned in the First Myth 7:9
“Rathunde, God of Death and War, was forged,
his armor black, his power vast.”
Alignment: Law, Good
Domains: Death, Glory, Good, Healing, Law, Nobility, Protection, Strength, War
The god of Death and War has a tragic story indeed. He was created by his father to combat evil. His love of the created races is great, and he was the first god to begin the reincarnation cycle. Those who truly appreciate the world and it’s treasures are most precious to him, and for that he sends them back to the world above time and time again. Despite his great kindness, Rathunde is absolutely ruthless in battle and his tactical wisdom and combat ferocity is unmatched. It is safe to say that the only ones willing to cross Rathunde are the tiger lords and their minions. It is said that the great sword he wields, is the only weapon in creation that can kill a god. Rathunde is constantly in battle, it is very rare that he is seen in the myths. His servants, the Solars, instead are said to act as his emissaries.
